—printed on paper tape and applied to stairs in public spaces. The artist stages the constitutional text to resemble the cautionary or barrier tape found at construction sites.
Within the photograph, the constitutional clause attached to the stairs functions like a warning sign at a construction site, drawing the viewer's attention. The legal declaration, physically intervening in a mundane space, prompts a reflection on how values taken for granted should be perceived and protected in reality. Through the photographic frame, the artist visualizes the social tension and state responsibility required to uphold these fundamental values as a static image.
독일 기본법 제1조 1항의 텍스트—
“인간의 존엄성은 침해되지 아니한다. 이를 존중하고 보호하는 것은 모든 국가 권력의 의무이다”
—를 인쇄한 종이 테이프를 공공장소의 계단에 부착하고 이를 기록한 사진 작업이다. 작가는 이 텍스트를 공사 현장의 접근 금지 표시나 주의를 요구하는 표지물처럼 연출하여 배치한다.
사진 속 계단에 부착된 헌법 조항은 공사 중인 구역의 위험을 알리는 지시문처럼 기능하며 보행자의 시선을 환기한다. 일상적인 공간에 물리적으로 개입된 법적 선언은 당연하게 여겨지는 가치가 현실에서 어떻게 인지되고 보호되어야 하는지에 대해 질문을 던진다. 작가는 사진이라는 프레임을 통해 사회적 가치를 유지하기 위한 긴장감과 국가의 책무를 정적인 이미지로 시각화한다.
